my mom came in from work and i told her the news and said i wasn’t sad and she said ‘yes you are, you were crying’ (she can tell by looking at the whites of my eyes)
so after a few minutes i told her what’s been going on. it’s nice to have it out in the open with her, too.

i guess i kind of knew i wouldn’t get it, but when i was in 8th grade my mom told me i’d be the kind of girl who was accepted by every school she applied to.
that’s officially not the case.
